I am 10 year old Spencer Towbin from Brooklyn, Michigan in Jackson County. While watching the news about Hurricane Katrina I saw assistance going for shelter, food, water and clothes and assistance going for infant items such as formula and diapers. I did not hear about assistance going to kids my age. I am sure that kids my age are bored, restless, and bugging their parents. So I decided to do something myself. Together with my friends, Sarah Vierra-Patron, Morgan Sanborn, and Rachael Barrett, we are sending packages to kids ages 3 to 16 with items like small travel games, small puzzles, books, magazines, notepads, crayons, coloring books, small stuffed animals. We would like to do what we can to give these kids a little something to do. The goal is to send at least 1,000 packages. We have also gone around to the local community asking for any assistance that may be offered. We have talked to many individuals and managers of businesses. As you can see from our many Sponsors, so far the response has been very positive. I'd like to welcome our newest member to Project Kidz Pak. Danialle Gallagher collected and redeemed bottles and cans to benefit the hurricane victims. She collected 2,000 bottles and cans. This is a very special donation for us -- especially since she is only 5 years old! Way to go, Danialle! Any assistance, items, or even suggestions you may offer is greatly appreciated. Please contact us via e-mail or call (517) 544-0611. Thank you, Spencer Towbin, Age 10
